Ratatouille
What do you do when you are pretty sure your child is going to be hired for his first job? Well - I took my seventeen-year-old out to the movies. And what mature movie did we see? Ummm.... Ratatouille. Okay - so it was MY choice. But hey, I was paying.
It was okay. Some really cute scenes that made me laugh. But the theatre wasn't filled with bunches of little kids - that says alot. To me - this movie doesn't fall anywhere near the same ballpark as - Nemo. I love the movie, Nemo. Ratatouille had too many "adults will get this" scenes and sayings. Whoever wrote started out with a great concept and needed a child's vision to implement it. Too bad.
And yes, I love to watch kid movies. However, I'm VERY picky about what I'll watch. I miss yesterday's Pollyanna, Journey to the Center of the Earth, National Velvet, etc. My son was raised on the old classics and we still like to watch them together. Nemo will fit in that category.
I don't think Ratatouille will.
Did not take child to ensemble. Bad Mommy. I was hot and tired and didn't feel like driving to Forsyth. We stayed home and got three units of math done and four units of Span 1 review completed. The BJU Spanish 1 DVD long distance learning is going to be great for hubby and me. We have the DVD's for 13 mos and it will probably take us that long to get through the program (us oldies are a little slow) It is really a little elementary for J, since he's already passed Spanish 1 at GHS when he was in 9th grade. But I was afraid he wouldn't remember what he had learned. So - this is a quick review before he plunges into Spanish 2.
May have discovered what to do for math curriculum.
