Make Haste
"In the rush and noise of life, as you have intervals, step home within yourselves and be still. Wait upon God, and feel His good presence; this will carry you evenly through your day's business." William Penn
I don't know about where you live - but here in Georgia we're experiencing a gas shortage. It's actually getting a trifle better. Last week Hubby and I had to wait in line to get gas and the local pumps have been out for almost two weeks. Jbird seems to be flabbergasted by all of this - but his old parents have been through it before. It means you don't always get to go where you want - when you want. Imagine that!
I was conversing with someone on-line about this predicament when it was suggested to me that I get a bike. Better for the environment and good for my health. I thanked them for their suggestion and told them I lived over ten miles out of town. However, I do have neighbors down the road a piece who have goats and perhaps they'd let me borrow one to ride in to the "big" city. That got a chuckle or two. Actually, one of our neighbors has some horses and they'd probably be a bit better for the trip.
Anyway - when you do decide to use your precious gas you make sure that you plan well. That's why today Jbird and I drove to:
- get a biscuit (can't do this big day excursion without people fuel could we?)
- Jbird's bank to deposit checks
- Jbird Doctor 1 to make appointment
- Quinlan Art Center to pay annual membership fee and get member show entry blank
- Panera to talk to manager about pay issues
- Blockbuster to get a couple of movies
- Wally World (Walmart) to get a couple of art supplies and a top
- Francis Meadows Aquatic Center (for a look see)
- Jbird Doctor 2 to keep appointment
- Pick up dry cleaning for Hubby
- Little Italy's for Italian sub and calzone (boy these people need re-fills quickly)
- Food Lion for groceries
- pharmacy for my meds
And finally - home. Where I put away groceries and tried to watch one of the movies with Jbird but the dumb DVD (Transformers - which is actually not a bad movie - the soundtrack is awesome) has issues - ugh! Hopefully - the other one will work okay tonight when Hubby gets home and we want to watch the movie together. I'll let you know what the second one is if we like it.
We got alot accomplished today. And in it I thanked God for the glorious fall day, I had a chance to give glory to the Lord to both doctors, and I got the opportunity to tell my son that I think he's pretty special. Good day. Hope yours was too.

This means I know I can't paint realistically enough to be satisfied that the picture looks like the beautiful nature and

I recently discovered that two of the members of our family have some Internet issues. It made me aware of how ignorant our young people are as to the issues of safety and security on the Net. I'm NOT the most tech intelligent person created myself, but obviously I know more than some of my family members. Teens, especially, seem to be unaware of the danger in which they can place themselves. The information I found revealed on one site could have easily had a predator sitting outside that child's school waiting for them to come out so they could follow them home. I was dismayed and shocked at the lack of understanding of the potential danger.
