Compromised

Albion1Thank you - thank you - thank you for your input to my problem.  I ran off the Mini-Waffle, thanks Lisa, I plan on trying that in the future.  Several of the patterns I found used a size three needle, April - unfortunatley, I don't have that size and I don't see a trip to the LYS in my near future - I must get that size needle though.  Chery, I'm definitely looking forward to you finishing that tutorial - great pics on the section that I had already viewed.  Greta, I'm going to get there with those ones - ONE day  (big grin). Sharlene - surfed and found the knitting designer you mentioned - like her stuff and I like the sock pattern book - a must purchase.  And Chris - I gotta be straight with you - that is going to take awhile for me to get my mind around.  So here's what I did do - I surfed some more and found a pattern I liked.  I couldn't get the pattern though until I joined the site  ugh!  I went over to the homepage at  Bernat, did the free sign up routine, and ran off a copy of one of their sock patterns that almost completely fits the bill. That's compromised #1.  I do believe the book of socks that Sharlene mentioned is more near what I had in mind.

So I cast on (with size 2's) - that's compromise #2.  I should be hearing a semi-woo-hoo from Greta.  Anway, I'm knitting away on my p1k1's and I'm near to two inches when I take a closer look and see that I did something wonky in the first couple of rounds.  Hmmmm..... do you think I'm going to rip this out?  Nope - I am not.  The yarn looks wonderful.  I can't say enough good about the texture and color - you do get what you pay for.  I'm looking forward to working on the sock tonight as we watch some movies together.

My first homework is posted and up for discussion.  I hope I have nerves left when I finish this class. I've got to go make some comments on my peer's homework. Ran all over town today looking for the texts for the class.  Looks like I'm going to have to order my stuff online.

Pics of sock to come either tomorrow or Sunday.
