The last four weeks have been more than a little overwhelming. Hubby was attacked by a student at school. Two boys decided to get into a fight - gang members. The one boy took a flying run and Hubby and he fell backwards doing damage to his hip and elbow. The boy was formally charged since there was bloodshed involved. He got thirty days in jail and a year out of the school system. He will be allowed to attend GED classes when he turns sixteen - if he so desires.
The elbow became infected and the bursa sac fill with fluid. It reached a point where Hubby's entire arm was involved. His hand was/is so swollen you can't see the knuckles. A couple of trips to the ER (including on Mother's Day) and daily trips to the ortho doc to have his elbow unpacked and packed (open wound). He is on mega doses of antibiotics and his stomach is feeling the effects. Giving him phenegran (sp) and yogurt to try and help with the tummy issues.
Meanwhile, Jay and Jen were working on getting this semester wrapped up. After a week off, Jen is back and Maymester classes begin tomorrow. Then she goes back home at the end of May and Jay begins June/July classes.
I will be taking five classes this summer online. I have to have 10 continuing ed credits for my teacher re-certification. Thankfully, I will be able to do it at home and much cheaper than doing college level classes. I start three classes next week - I will be taking Word 2007, Powerpoint 2007, and Excel 2007. I'm looking forward to it and the knowledge will hopefully help if I can find an office position as well. I continue to fill out apps to no avail as yet.
Meanwhile we also have another family issue coming up. I don't feel at liberty to discuss all of it yet - but it will involve us moving. However, I can't look for a place yet as we don't know where we will be going. Meanwhile, I've got twenty years of living to sort through, get rid of, and catalog.
Oh - and did I mention I got poison ivy again and am on steriods? Right.....
