You've had one of these days - it is packed to the brim and flowing over. I had music teacher gifts to finalize - cookies to bake - lessons to drive child to - and Jbird's rescheduled solo performance to attend. Uh - huh.
So - I did what every procrastinating smart person does. I used a mix for the cookies. If you haven't tried these yet, you need to - they are luscious. Pick up a pack of Krusteaz Pumpkin Spice Quick Bread Mix. You can get them at Sam's. On the side of the 3 pack box is a recipe for Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies. Easy - sheemzie. They bake up great and are gobbled up in a snap. I've had great success with the Krusteaz products - their bar mixes are excellent as well. My son just about drools over the pecan bars.
Get hubby to take son to karate and to the music lessons and then I headed out to the stores to try and to some quick shopping. I resorted to a couple of gift cards - that makes me feel crummy - BUT I love what the card said, "You know what you want". Trust me the recipient knows what SHE wants. I found Jbird's desired game. I didn't find the book I wanted for hubby.
Got to the performance in time. Jbird looked dashing if I must say so myself. At least I know there were several girls there who must have been thinking the same thing - one of the them click a pic of him as he walked by - then they did the girl giggle thing. Uh huh. He did great (a couple of problems but he recovered nicely) and his first violin teacher was there to see him. She came up after the program all excited - giving J hugs. She took me to the side and asked if J would be interested in playing in a chamber group with his peers (3 or 4). I told her he'd be delighted - add another hour a week if we do this.....hmmmm. Anway, after the whole thing was over J mentions the "little red-headed girl" who played the cello - (that's the girl that he'd be playing with). Yes, I told I noticed her, and Ms. Swope was wondering if you'd like to play in a chamber group with her. You'd have thought I'd given him a million dollars - those green eyes of his just were a sparkling.
My friend, S (the mother of the Bat Mitvah girl), gave me a birthday present. It SO touched my heart I can hardly NOT cry when I think about it. She had packed a carry file container full of paper, a small container of pens and writing tools, a small container with clips etc., files, hanging files, notebooks, a container of quotes to inspire me, and a sign she had made on the door that says, "Quiet Writer at Work". This gift took hours of work and thought. How honored I am. The Lord blessed me beyond my thoughts.

It is even better when we don't dream alone - when the Lord provides us with a friend to dream with us.
