The Performance

Tonight was Jbird's Spring Chamber Concert.  It was great. Our new next door neighbor came.  Mike and Jimmy (from the Mexico trip) came.  Jimmy brought his wife Judy.  These are friends from many years.

The day had been a tough one - you know - running around like chickens without.  I was trying to bake cookies, answer phone calls, get the car packed - etc. - all typical mother stuff.  One of those times where you wonder - is this really all worth it?

All the driving to and from rehearsals paid off a thousand times by the glorious music to which you are listening.  The Red Pony actually came off without a hitch.  The triumph of the Wabash Cannonball - let me tell you - it sounded just like a train!  I looked over at our guests - they had smiles, they swayed to the music, they shed a tear when one of their daddy's favorites was played.  They were dutifully impressed with Jbird's achievement. Then after the event is over, you bask in the glow of it all.   A tasty spread for the reception.   Good music - great conversations.  A night filled with memories.  Yes, it is worth it all.
